Proxxima™ polyolefin thermoset systems

Proxxima™ polyolefin thermoset resin systems

ProxximaTM systems bring improvement throughout the value chain, benefiting converters and end-users. Their super-low viscosity and controllable fast cure have been found to streamline production across a broad set of applications. Even better, often these production efficiencies can be reached with minimal changes to conventional processing equipment.

ProxximaTM polyolefin thermosets enable an exceptional balance of strength and toughness, resulting in improved fatigue performance. Better still, they’re 7-10% lighter than their epoxy and polyurethane alternates, with great resistance to harsh chemicals and hot, wet environments.

How Proxxima™ works

Our ProxximaTM resin systems are low-viscosity two-part polyolefin thermosetting systems comprising a liquid monomer mixture and a catalyst hardener. Our portfolio range is designed to solve specific market needs and is customized for specific processing technologies (e.g., VARTM, RIM, RTM, pultrusion and more).

Our resin formulations are based on cyclic C5 monomers and other proprietary monomers and additives. Our catalyst formulations have strong foundations in Nobel Prize-winning technology developed by Professor Robert Grubbs and his research team. This powerful combination produces polymers that can outperform today’s solutions across a broad set of everyday applications such as wind turbine blades, electric vehicle parts, sustainable construction, and anticorrosion coatings.

ProxximaTM polyolefin thermosets have proven benefits over a wide variety of alternative solutions, replacing materials from steel to silicone. Our proprietary advanced polymer technology even outperforms conventional poly-DCPD. Specifically, our products have a broader processing window, are more stable when exposed to oxygen, water and/or heat, compatible with both glass and carbon fiber and support high filler* loading with minimal voids.
