Creating sustainable solutions
Innovating with sustainability in mind
Can ProxximaTM polyolefin thermoset resin systems contribute to your company’s sustainability goals? ProxximaTM, rooted in novel polyolefin chemistry, has less than half the GHG emissions than many traditional thermoset resins** on a cradle-to-gate basis. Leverage Proxxima’s super-low viscosity and controllable fast cure to help reduce production emissions. Initiate a discussion with your customer by providing lighter weight component, while still boasting superior strength, fatigue performance, and durability. Collaborate with us to drive innovation with sustainability in mind.
Proxxima™ resin system has a carbon footprint of product (CFP) estimate ~60% lower than comparable epoxy resin**
*Source: Comparative Carbon Footprint of Product - ExxonMobil’s Proxxima™ Resin System to Alternative Resin Systems, June 2023, prepared by Sphera Solutions, Inc. for ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company. The study was confirmed to be conducted according to and in compliance with ISO 14067:2018 (Greenhouse gases - Carbon footprint of products - Requirements and guidelines for quantification) by an independent third party critical review panel.
**All resins assessed in this Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) study were of the type used in molding applications. Specifically, the epoxy resin system was of the type used in VARTM wind blade production. The resin systems are representative of formulated resin systems and include any required curing hardeners or catalysts.
Sensitivity ranges of CFP estimates from the LCA study for polyurethane, vinyl ester, and epoxy systems are based on literature review and data from Sphera Solutions, Inc.

1. THE INFORMATION PROVIDED CONSTITUES ESTIMATES ONLY. THE BOUNDARY FOR THE CARBON FOOTPRINT ESTIMATES IS CRADLE TO GATE. THIS IS NOT A FULL PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE (CRADLE TO GRAVE) ASSESSEMENT. External critical review of potential greenhouse gas impacts was conducted by three experts.2. The Carbon Footprint of Product (CFP) estimates are represented as kg CO2e/L, utilizing the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) emissions metrics of Global Warming Potential (GWP) under the 100 year time horizon. The GWP metric, used by policy makers, is intended to quantify and communicate potential global warming impacts of different substances and emissions relative to that of CO2. The emissions estimates are relative expressions only and do not predict actual impacts, the exceeding of threshold, safety margins, or risks.
